Last night I attended a Deakin University Networking Club event called 'What Can You Do in Cyber?'. It was an event held at Deakin's Burwood campus in Melbourne and a chance to network and meet industry professionals who are working in cyber security.
A 4 hour round trip for me, as I live about two hours from the city, but well worth the effort. A big thanks to everyone who was there and the organisers of course. We had people from Identity and Access Management fields, SOC analysts, software security and more.
In particular I would like to thank two guys I met that gave me some really excellent advice, Francesco P from an American artificial intelligence company in Melbourne and Kaif Ahsan from Atlassian who works in software security, thank you both for your time and advice.
This was my first networking event and it taught me the importance of networking in the I.T. field.
